Ba Be Hostel

One of the nicest places I stayed at in Vietnam and the beds are so comfortable!! The owners speak very good English, are very friendly and more as willing to help out. Is has such a nice garden, to chill and make a campfire.

Отличная цена (100к) за общую комнату с общей ванной на этаже. Хостел абсолютно новый, с красивым дизайном. Матрас мягкий - идеально для путешественника. Место очень тихое, и окна выходят на тихий сад с речкой. По соседству есть петух, но шумоизоляция достаточная.

Stayed here a night on the way to Cao Bang by motorbike. Very reasonable price for the hostel 100k per night! Had a dorm to myself! I was blown away by the peaceful location and quality hosting of Luan and his family. The food was absolutely delicious and worth it. Would recommend this place to anyone stopping by Ba Be, also the place is super clean and very new! Thank you Luan!

Wow, way opposite what I expected from the good reviews but that’s what you get for its cheap price. Location is nice if you want to access to the forest/ boat tour. I didn’t try his food but it is above average (150-200k if I’m not wrong, but included more dishes) Owner joked me to go eat pho because I’m a ‘cheapstake’. Iced coffees (3 times I ordered) had to be requested nicely because he might be reluctant and show attitude. (1 upon check in, 1 in the afternoon with other customers and 10pm after my nightwalk). Check out time is 11am (only mentioned 2 hours before and strictly no extension allowed- I asked for 12pm because I thought it is the standard check out time. He was very quick to say no haha, gosh.) I’m the only staying guest during my 2 nights and I was treated like a sore. Why take me in if you’re not interested to serve? Why be in the service industry if you want to do it half-heartedly? Just close during low season and save your energy. PS: Aircorn will be turned off even if you’re away for 1 hour (how sneaky haha.. just when Luan is uncontactable.. the air corn was turned off automatically like that..) When I first checked in, I had to request him to help turn on the air corn THREE times. Just when I thought he didn’t understand me, I thought the price 100k/night doesn’t have air corn. Then I would have gone to look for another place. Another attitude when he showed me how to use the remote.. sigh… I asked him how I can contact him, but he refused to give me an answer because he is usually away 50% of the time, attending his own matters. Sarcasm is still tolerable but not when you can’t do a basic service. 🤣 and BTW, he speaks good english. Luan told me there’s a trail I can try for wildlife… then he MIA (missing in action) the whole afternoon.. really half-hearted service. When I looked for him in the whole building, I thought there was a room behind the kitchen. He saw me came out from the other hotel, he immediately shouted and chided me. ‘Do not enter the kitchen. Do you understand me?’ He has a very good plus point. He speaks good English. For every 9 good hostels, 1 will be bad so.. that’s backpacker’s life. :) Go at your own risk.
